Used from the 12th thru the 18th century, the buckler achieved a deserved reputation as both a defensive and offensive arm and in times a soup bowl. Indispensable in both classical rapier play and I.33 sparring. Known as "Sword & Buckler" manuscript 1.33 (pronounced "One thirty-three" rather than "Eye-thirty-three") it deals entirely with the use of the Medieval sword and buckler. While ornamentations can vary from plain to leather covered, this Tan Leather Covered Buckler is an essential part of the modern swordsman`s equipment. Crafted in 14 gauge steel, these bucklers have rolled edges and come in three sizes to meet individual needs. This leather-covered version combines functionality and aesthetics. The steel tube grip and 14 gauge boss are both securely riveted to the body of the buckler.
